Hammers & Strings: Hammered Dulcimer Workshop

Event Information

Join us for a full day of immersive music and instruction at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Knoxville. This event is designed specifically for hammered dulcimer players looking to refine their skills through a series of focused workshops, culminating in a live concert.

What’s Included

Your registration provides full access to the day's programming, including:

  • Four Instruction Sessions: Each workshop is 1 hour and 15 minutes long, providing ample time to dive deep into technique and repertoire.

  • Catered Lunch: Enjoy a midday meal and socialize with fellow musicians from the Knoxville area and beyond.

  • Live Concert: A performance by National Champion Matthew Dickerson.

Schedule Overview

  • Midday: Lunch (joined by the mountain dulcimer community for social time)

Note on Instrument: These instructional sessions are strictly for the hammered dulcimer. While our friends in the mountain dulcimer community will join us for lunch and the evening concert, the four daytime workshops are dedicated to hammered dulcimer instruction.
